I finished work at 5:30 PM in Ashrafieh and went out looking for a cab to go back home. I spotted a bus (bus number 2) and boarded it. I thought it’s a good idea, it’ll be a direct way and i’d spare more money at the same time.

The bus was full. I sat on a small seat in the front row, next to a guy who was apparently sleeping. As the bus began moving, the guy started to wake up and more passengers came in and were standing in the bus.

I felt like the guy’s leg hit mine; I didn’t give this an importance, as it’s not the first time people’s legs hit me in buses or cabs.

But.. later that feeling became more consistent, and as i was trying to get away from the guy i noticed he was getting closer to me, and i felt something like a hard ball on my leg!!!

Then i turned my head lightly… And I saw that he was holding his d*ck and rubbing it against my leg !!! I quickly jumped off my seat and yelled at him, then reported him to the driver: “You’ve got a sex-addict passenger who assaults women!” the driver got mad, punched the guy on his face and head, and literally threw him out of the bus.

The other passengers were stunned. I kept sitting next to the driver until some seats were empty, then a lady asked me to sit next to her.

Isn’t transportation safe anymore ?!

“Be prepared… and be ready to scream! DON’T HOLD BACK!”

I was very young when this incident occurred… but I remember it as if it was yesterday. I was walking home from a sports club up the road just before the IC on bliss street. I always felt safe because the police station is 2 mins away, maghfar hbeich.

My cousin and I were two young teenagers, maybe 15 years old walking up the hill just before dark. Two men were walking towards us as if they were going to walk right past… very normal situation.

Just as they got close to us, one of them grabbed me by the arm and put his hand on my chest and felt and grabbed me then released me seconds later and continued walking as if nothing happened. My cousin was right next to me, but neither of us could speak a word, I couldn’t bring myself to shout, I was so scared.

My advice to anyone reading this is to be aware of what is around you, be prepared for such instances and be ready to scream… if I had uttered a sound, the police would have been there in seconds and this dirty man would never have hurt anyone else.

DON’T HOLD BACK, you have nothing to be ashamed of, they should be locked away so we can have a safe society to live in.

A Message to Parents: Listen to Your Kids When They Ask for Help!

For almost 2 years i was obliged to go each weekend to grandpa’s home, because all the family (aunts, uncles, cousins) meet there.

I was 11 when i first started telling my parents that i don’t want to go there, but they thought that I’m “not sociable” and they made me go there, 1st for my “sociable” personality and second because it’s “not safe” to keep an 11 years old girl alone at home. What my parents didn’t know was that “grandpa’s home was not safe”.

I had this 5 years older cousin who always had games for his younger cousins, usually the game would be hide and seek, my other cousin used to seek and we hide, and he starts squeezing my breasts, and touching me “down” in a very bad way… and that was the game for two years, and whenever i said i didn’t want to play he used to go to my mom and ask her what’s wrong with your daughter she’s not playing, and start saying that I’m fun screwier in front of my other cousins, and the same thing happened when we went to the TV room or anyplace where we are alone…

I’ll not talk about the consequences of this harassment, because now that i’m 23 i haven’t healed enough from this annoying experience. But a message for parents, when your kids don’t want to do something, it’s not because they are stubborn or because they have personality issues, try to find the real reasons why they don’t want to do things, and help them face them.

there was this Engineering company, that wanted to recruit a secretary so I applied and during the interview the boss was very nice and we agreed on 800 $ per month and he said that me and his wife are from the same village in the south and i am the same age like his son and he was calling me “daughter”…

so one day we were alone in the office (me and the boss) and he pointed to me at “hotel le promenade” and he said that it is a nice place and I said ok , so what , and then he grabbed me and he pressed on my breast and he said he will pay his life if i let him play with my boobs cz his wife has very small breasts and when I fought back and said no, he bluntly said “why do you think I am paying you 800 $ then?”

so I start packing my things and i told him that it will cost him less money if he convinced his wife to enlarge her breasts :)

Fuck dirty men they are everywhere …

I fight back against harassers in Charqieh, Gharbieh, and everywhere in between!

I was going back home alone that day from Roadster Ashrafiyeh to Hamra, it takes a 10 minute drive but lucky me I couldn’t find a service since they consider it as “charqieh – gharbieh” so hell no they won’t drive me there!

- NEWS FLASH PEOPLE, the civil war ended long before I was even born! -

so I kept walking and walking in a hope to find a taxi or anything that could drive me anywhere near home… But after waiting for an hour in the rain and the taxi company said that they need an hour minimum to provide me with a taxi, I decided to walk home!

I reached downtown, or to be exact “Bab-Idris” and suddenly an old guy jumps out of no where and talks to me, I couldn’t hear him since I was listening to music at the time, but I was able to hear him say in his egyptian accent “eih ya gamil, ma betroddesh leih?”…

as usual I SNAPPED! I started yelling at him and saying in arabic “do I look like I’m in the mood for you, or for anyone else to harass me? Yeah, answer me? WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? (&@#^(*$#” even though it was around 6pm (winter time) and it was kind of dark, but I could see the shock on his face.

He was terrified, he didn’t see it coming. He didn’t expect that a girl would speak up and refuse harassment, especially not in the way that I did…

After yelling at him, I turned my back, took a deep breath and kept walking! that would teach anybody to mess with me again! :P

Stalked and harassed… even when driving!

First I used to think I have a car I’m immune against harassment since I don’t walk on the street. But lately I’ve been realizing even safe in my car I can be harassed and stalked.

I really don’t know why guys have turned into such creepy desperate losers to do something like that. It was happened twice so far and frankly it’s making me a little scared of going out at night now.

First time I went to pick up my friend from Kaslik and we were on our way to gemayze. A car behind me a Peugeot with 2 guys in it kept flashing it’s light I thought he wanted to pass so I made way for him he didn’t so I kept going. He kept following us till we reached the highway and he started getting so close almost causing us an accident he kept rolling his window and trying to talk to us.

Anyway we got to gemayze he was still following us. We parked he parked next to us. And when he got out the usual crap all typical Lebanese guys say fina net3arraf w 3ajabtine w mo3jab and other crap. Anyway we disposed of them and I made sure to tell him in English (when I’m angry I started talking in English) how creepy and desperate I thought they are which they didnt understand a word of all they could say was ‘ma bte7ke 3arabe?’ -.-

anyway the second time also in Kaslik we were returning home after midnight we decided to stop by a hot dog stand while we were eating in the car a BMW parks next to us with a guy in it I immediately sensed he’s going to try to talk to us so I started the car and we left to my surprise he followed us -.-

he kept following us till I decided to park thinking he’ll keep going which turned out to be a bad idea he parked next to us and tried to talk to us i made a sign with my hand for him to leave that were not interested to talk with him he wouldn’t leave bel ouwwe baddo efta7 el Chebbek la ye7ke

eventually I just drove back and went into a road that leads to sakanet jeich he didn’t follow he just disappeared. I don’t know if this counts as harassment stalking flirting or whatever but it sure is very annoying and scary for the girl who doesn’t know what the guys intentions are.

التحرش من قبل الأقارب؟ هل أنا الملامة؟

 كنت في الرابعة من العمر واستمر هذا التحرش حتى سن الـ16 في البداية كان من قبل أحد الأقارب فكان يسكن معنا في البيت في الجنوب كان عمره تقريبا 38 بداء الامر بدخوله ليلا الى غرفتي ويقوم بامساكي يدي عضوه الذكوري كنت استيقظ خائفة ومستغربة ما يفعله وفي ذهني الطفولي تساؤلات حول تصرفاته وكل ما كنت استنتجه هو انه من المعيب أن يريني عضوه .

واستمر هذا سنوات وكان يخبرني عن الجنس ويمارس العادة السرية أمامي ويمسكني عضوه ويجبرني على لعقه وبدا بخلعني ملابسي ويتحرش بي. كنت أشعر بالاشمئذاذ القوي ولكن كنت أخاف ردعه أو اخبار أحد على ما يفعله وتنبيه لي على عدم اخبار أحد.

وفي سن ل 6 انتقلنا للعيش في بيروت وظل هو يسكن في الجنوب ولم ارتاح منه. ففي العطل كنا نصعد الى الجنوب او يرسلونا انا و اخواتي الاكبر مني لتمضية العطل وكان يعاود تحرشه بي

وفي الوقت نفسه كان يتردد علينا في بيروت ابن خالتي وكان ينام عندنا وكان يبلغ ل 20 من العمر وكنت اجالس عند الكمبيوتر في الغرفة فيأتي من الخلف ويداعب فمي ورقبتي ويقبلني في فمي كنت وقتها في عمر ل 10 تقريبا وفي يوم كنت وحدي في المنزل فاتى واستغل عدم وجود أحد فاخلعني ملابسي وتحرش بي ونفس الشعور كنت أشعر بالاشمئذاذ من تصرفه والخوف من الكلام واستمروا بالتحرش.  وحين أصبحت ناضجة وواعية صرت أحاول الهروب منهم وعدم الاختلاء معهم و أيضا قام أبي في بيع بيت الجنوب حيث لم أعد اراه غير صدفا وأمام الناس ولكن لا يخلو الامر من محاولته بالتحرش وأيضا ابن خالتي لم يعد يتردد علينا .

 في نفسي أحتار على من أضع اللوم ؟ على نفسي ! باني لم أخبر أحد ؟ ام عليهم وعلى ميولهم ووساختهم !

As I was walking with two other girls on Sadat street, right in front of Makhfar Hbeish, a guy jumping on his motorcycle said “There’s a boob on the right and a boob on the left!”

Of course, her said that in arabic no need to translate it here though, since it sounds as disgusting as his face!!
